MEET OUR TEAM
Marie V Ambusk
CEO | Founder | Principle Investigator
Since 2006 Marie has been a leader in urban tree stewardship through her volunteerism in Vermont. Upon retirement from GE Healthcare (2011) and a 40-year career in Finance/Controllership IT, she was inspired to solve a global problem that causes early and unnecessary tree mortality. Marie started TreesROI in 2012, believing that “any problem can be solved with science, technology, persistence, a lot of hard work, and a little luck.”

Her work is devoted to finding a way to Grow Better Trees.
Research Team
Greg Fanslow
Data Scientist
Greg is the President of Blue Tree Analytics (VT) and our Data Scientist. With his expertise in computer vision, artificial intelligence, image segmentation, machine learning, deep learning, and other modeling techniques, Greg will develop the Root-Analysis Software Algorithm(s) for INSIGHT™ and train the Tree Root Quality Classification Model to predict the manually measured root quality metrics based on the GPR data.
Dr. Jason Grabosky
Quality Compliance Leader
Professor of Urban Forestry, Dept. Ecology Evolution, and Natural Resources at Rutgers University (NJ), Jason is recognized worldwide for his research with modified soil that enhances tree root growth in urban environments. He will focus on providing content for the Tree Root Quality Classification Model, developing a grading metric, providing feedback, and evaluating the testing steps to define tree root features and characteristics.
Gordon Mann
Quality Compliance Leader
The owner of Mann Made Resources (CA), Consulting Arborist, Certified Arborist and Municipal Specialist, and Certified Urban Forester, Gordon is a respected industry leader. He will participate in developing the Tree Root Quality Classification Model, and evaluation of success metrics. His experience with municipalities, and regulatory agencies will guide the development of a meaningful product and service to benefit the urban forestry industry
John Mangan
Project CTO
John is VP of IT & Regulatory at Mach 7 Technologies (VT), Owner of Mangan Labs, and our Project CTO. John will facilitate the communication of requirements across the team to bridge the various levels of technical understanding in translating the team’s vision into code. He will design and build the gantry prototype for GPR data collection.
